If Pinot is anywhere near yellow in the third week not having Gaudu would be absolutely catastrophic

If Demare can stay unseen holding onto his teamcar for the Cipressa in Italy Gaudu can surely stay unseen doing it for the Colmiane, the Turini, the Eze and the Quatre Chemins in France.
They want that break to go they're bitching to riders who want to bridge to the break.

Magic Spray.

Thattl do the trick.

If it doesn't, perhaps take advice from my former sunday league west lancs under 14s manager and "Just run it off you girl"

Gaudu should just call it a day, it might be different if it was a flat stage and the peloton take it easy, but not with the climbs today.

I’d agree he’s just about the favourite but certainly not an overwhelming one.
I’d suggest his form isn’t that great. Decent enough but easy to pick holes in (got away with super strong Wout in MSR, got clear twice in the Dauphiné but was roundly thumped by Formolo and Kamna).
Again, DQS look decent enough but not exceptional. Some big engines and high quality riders but there isn’t a great deal of flat on stage 2 so it may not be ideal for them.
He dropped an unbelievable WVA on the poggio, only 2 or 3 weeks ago. That's good enough for me.

If it was a big day in the Alpes, sure, many questions.

But getting over the two cat 1's: he should be fine. The form question is mostly relevant for the last climb.

Marc Madiot ffs get that kid in the car and get him some treatment asap

If he doesn't want to...
But seriously, being an important French rider at the TdF in trouble is just gonna suck! Imagine if it had been, say, Eg... he'd have been left in peace.
