I love the surprised pikachu faces when critize a GT route then the riders go out and do worse in the Tour just about every year.

But that is a moot point, because putting pressure on others today, while they are hurting, means they have less to fire with on Saturday.

Putting pressure on today for little gain, means less to pressure with on Saturday. Where there is potentially more reward for putting on pressure.

Some Vuelta vibes later on, where most riders can't hold form for meaningful amount of time, can only be fun at this rate, at this time of the year

Nice comeback by Herrada, who looked cooked on the steep part.

It is odd though, that Cofidis send him out after a stage win, when they have GC aspirations for Martin, today is going to take a lot out of Herrada, and they end up with nothing to show for the effort.
Nothing ventured nothing gained. Herrada is at least showing that it was worth the effort to go for it.

If he'd pulled it off then a stage win for him + a (possible) top 10 for Martin would be a brilliant Tour for them. And Herrada has a day sitting in the wheels tomorrow ahead of the Pyrenees at the weekend.

Today was much better for a decent attack than the Peyresourde
