How much time would Roglic expect to put into Pogacar in the TT?
I know Pog beat him in Nats but would be surprised if he beat him here.

Also if the 4 GC guys got pulled back by the guys behind the whole collective would have slowed and he had know real way to know how likely or not that was.

He gave himself two routes to winning and I think he made the right call, he just judged the finale wrong but he'll learn. You'd not be surprised to see him in with another chance this year and if not he'll back for others.

Only slight misstep he did, was kicking first in the sprint, instead of taking Pogacars wheel, but then, he may not have felt he had enough for a proper sprint :)

Roglic is just riding like he is the rider to beat. People can think what they want, but he is just riding from the standpoint of being the favorite, with a great team and having his TT ability to rely on. He is explosive and can win bonus seconds. Has stayed out of crashes and problems so far. He is in the lead after the first week.

You dont have to root for him, but I dont get people that almost seems to hate him and J-V.

I know we all love an underdog, but Roglic has ridden with panache before. Now he, together with his team, has developed into the ones to beat. You ride the race differently and more defensive. Controlling. You dont gamble in the same way.

I for one dont think it looks like he or J-V is in no way unbeatable though. You can isolate him and take turns attacking. Letting him do work. Hope he runs out of steam at some point. At the same time, they will start to think about their position and might ride more defensive as the race goes on. It is usually how it goes. Lets hope there are more stages like this ahead.

This was just my thoughts. It is cool if you dont agree. I´ll be rooting for Pog and Martin for the sake of my team in the TdF game. :)

Yea for some (no) reason I never liked Roglic. He is some kind of villain for me. Bit like LA back in the day. Although there it was probably for way better reasons..

Long range attacks becomes the only option when Roglic ends up gaining another minute on Pas de Peyrol because he has to follow Pogacar.

Bernal today was as strong as I have ever seen him at the Tour. Maybe it was just a good day but I actually think there is some upwards trajectory. He could really put the hammer down on those mtfs in the Alps.

The race is long. Mamooth MTFs of Grand Colombier and Maribel may decide this Tour so yeah, guys like Bernal and Pogacar will have their chance to unseat Roglic.

I'm very quickly growing to love Pogacar every day he lights it up.
Bernals calmness is impressive lots of more experienced riders would panic when gapped but he just worked it back up.
So far Rogalic has been defensive but I think he has the legs to hit it hard.

And plenty of Colombians and French lurking close by including some real explosive climbers if they have it in the legs this tour.

As for Yates he could do no more he rode the stage as smart tactically as was possible given his lack of GC support

Why do you think that? There wasn't a single case yet.

I wonder how that will go since riders usually do tend get sick as the race goes on. Coughing, fever and catching a normal cold.

That covid-test can be very diffuse sometimes.

God, that was cruel. I will never ever forgive Cancellara for that.

By the way, the youtube link in your signature is dead.
Keep in mind that Hirschi is a 'pupil' of Fabian coming from a similar village in Switzerland

I just hope this is the tour where no one waits for the yellow jersey or the Ineos team leader
No one, I repeat, no one waited for Pogacar in Stage 7 when he lost time in the crosswind due to a mechanical
Poga was in the group with Landa before the roundabout, he wasn't dropped because of mechanical...;)

Bebbe Conti on the Rai Replay says that Alberto Contador has offered to work with Aru
to see what can be fixed physically or psychologically
Saronni roasting him on live TV was uncalled for. The guy himself is an expert when it comes to burning gc prospects, as long as he was in charge the team never produced/developed a single gc rider.
