Break should finally go after intermediate. At the mo Matthews blocking everything in his quest to get within 50 points of the lead.

Just like the KOM sprint was the chance to get away yesterday, today the break will form immediately after the sprint, I think.

If he gets back on and gets like a 20" penalty for drafting, he'll probably take that over the level of losses he'd get if he didn't get back on. And if he doesn't get back on, the additional penalty will become an irrelevance.

Latour vs. Zakarin on a wet descent TT. Book it.
Latour would lose. Seriously.

Matthews had trouble overtaking his teammates there. Completely empty.

Also, I think I spotted McNulty in the front group so Pog should have 3 teammates.

It seems unlikely that any of the groups will get back to the peloton before they begin the finale with ~53 km to go.

Terrible news for the rules of the road: Sepp Kuss has made the front group. However, with Rogla dropped, he can be unleashed. This is almost a perfect situation for him - there is freedom to attack with no leader there, he won't be expected to work with the other teams that are there and Jumbo's best placed rider not really to be treated (yet...) as a GC threat, he's 40 minutes back and so no need to watch him too closely, and there's some good steep ramps at the Col de la Colombière which will suit him. I'd even suggest he might be a good shout to win the GPM if he is truly let off the leash.

The only problem is that descent down into Le Grand Bornand, which obviously mean this is not a stage to be, well, raced.
