Maybe they are content with making today hard and taking the stage. Knowing it would be difficult to drop him on the last climb. Not steep enough. Hoping that Vinge will suffer tomorrow for the effort today. That Pogs recovery is better and maybe that he could gain back time on Hautacam tomorrow. If Vinge is stronger then so be it. Not much else they can to do then what they have done.
Side note, but Vingegaard is probably the favourite for the KOM jersey now. Only 10 points down on Geschke with a stage win and a HC MTF tomorrow.
lol, i would pay good money to have Mou as a DS of a cycling team facing JV ad UAE
Isn't that what you would have said yesterday about today?Who's gonna pull the break back tomorrow? Jumbo has no reason and UAE doesn't have the numbers. If Geschke makes the break and has the legs to go over the first two climbs he should be fine.
Just like today, there's a good chance the break runs out of time to take enough of an advantage. Short mountain stages rarely go to the break.Who's gonna pull the break back tomorrow? Jumbo has no reason and UAE doesn't have the numbers. If Geschke makes the break and has the legs to go over the first two climbs he should be fine.
This is the perfect opportunity with V isolated. Pog has to go.
I think UAE will use McNulty to chase the break, then McNulty will set a high pace on the Aubisque, before McNulty will shred the peloton on the Spandelles so McNulty can set up the attack in Hautacam.Who's gonna pull the break back tomorrow? Jumbo has no reason and UAE doesn't have the numbers. If Geschke makes the break and has the legs to go over the first two climbs he should be fine.
It is difficult to drop someone on this climb and might just cost more in the end. Better to take the stage how it has turned out.
Why 'Steve'?
And why persist with it if no-one else is sharing the joke?
Best climber TODAY. Why not? He surely has fresher legs than any GC contender, being 1 hour behind. So Mcnulty now the best climber. Oh well!
