Very strange tactics by JV unless it wasn't planned. One can well argue that Wout is pointless getting tired to be a late support for Roglic or Vingo.

If i am Jumbo im going to question if i can trust wout to wait for Jonas and Roglic and be a team player tomorrow. honestly he rode his own show last year also the stage roglic crashed. He wins stages and brings awarnes for the sponsors but for the team cohesion i would question how good it is.

Atm Vingegaard looks clearly stronger than Roglic. Beat him in the TT and better than him on a short, punchy climb that should really suit Roglic.
TT is not a good gauge as it was raining and time differences were mainly due to risk taking.
Assessing the climb as a measure of form will also take us to strange places...where was Pogacar?

I think it was the team plan for WVA to launch from the climb and take the win.

I do assume JV had a plan to do a Paris Nice move and have multiple of their guys off but I think they changed their mind. Vingegaard doesn't bother trying to get back on to WVAs wheel and he could have imo. I'd say they made the call themselves for WVA just to go at that point.

Looked too chaotic in that attack moment for instant strategy decisions. Just goooo.
True but they had, after Laporte dropped out, a very select group of WvA, Vingegaard, Roglic, Yates, Thomas. But yeah, since they were not able to go as fast as WvA (especially Roglic and Thomas), the gap might have not been enough (maybe none at all, since Pogacar and Vlasov actually closed in Roglic and Thomas over the top).

Pogacar had no team around him and was probably caught behind when the 2 armadas started drilling it.

Nah Vingegaard said so at the finish to wout that it was not. Bruyneel would leave him at home the next tour. if i am roglic or jonas im not happy. dont care if he won, he took out his earpice before he went also,
