People think this was bad for UAE?

This was close to absolutely perfect. They prevented Jumbo from doing anything and let Pog expend effort in the most efficient way.

Don't get me wrong it's pretty boring, but they've been burned once and now they're just trying to eek back their advantages

So with the typical "holding hands until the finish line Giro stage" out of the way, lets hope for some fun Tomorrow instead

Nice of Pogacar to wait with attacking until after Kwiatkowski had crossed the line. Making covering the race much simpler.

UAE are going to try to make the remaining mountain stages into mountain sprints. Jumbo are going to be aggressive.

Pogistomp. Lot of Jumbo riders dropped early on the climb so if Vingo is good he could make it difficult for Pog later. Also, can Kuss maintain his form for 3 weeks or will the Giro legs eventually catch up to him?

He wasnt gonna win the Tour today and drop Vinge by two minutes today.

UAE controlled the stage and tempo on the last climb. Maybe at an effort Pog was happy with, knowing what is to come.

Jumbo maybe missed an opportunity to make it hard.
Jumbo saved their legs for tomorrow...UAE, not so much.

And playing the role of Magnus Cort today will be Maxim Van Gils

I expect for consistencies sake that legions of Roglic fans will be pouring in here to protest him fighting for those bonus seconds.

These bonus seconds (for second and third) don't make much sense. Pog actually gains more by finishing third and Vinge fourth (4 seconds difference) than if they would be second and third (two seconds difference).
Pog wasn't far away from finishing second though.

Pog and Vingo ... about as expected. A few seconds for Pogi plus 4 bonus seconds ... not exactly a knockout blow.

Pog should have gone sooner ..he could have dropped Vinge

What the hell was he doing riding behind Grosschartner

If he'd gone sooner there is no guarantee Vingegaard wouldn't have ridden back up to him. And the difference in bonus seconds from 3rd to 2nd is only 2. I think Vingegaard will be reasonably happy though as there is clearly very little between the level of both riders at this tour.

This could yet come down to the TT.

Yeah, that's the downside of this route now. Pog has no need to go earlier as there are two more hard stages this weekend. His current method of choice is death by 1000 cuts.

Exactly.

He has Vinge beaten in mountain sprints. So he can just eat away at the lead. Everyone knew this; likewise this climb didn't produce gaps 3 years ago so it's no surprise it didn't here either.

But, unlike last year, Pog is actually gapping Vingegaard, even just by a little. But it's enough to win the TdF if he continues.

Jumbo was never going to do anything on this stage, except for defence.

Tomorrow and Wednesday is where we will see them do something (while Sunday is for UAE).
