Sean Kelly was right the prep was not good for Pogacar...did not have the base for 3 weeks

Or it was the crash earlier that's responsible as well. But not a good enough base also makes sense.

Still he rode a very good TT yesterday, so I'd be surprised if the crash didn't play a small role at least. On the other hand a TT is a short effort, while this stage is surely not.

Without the grinta yesterday, looked like Remco’s last effort in the Giro TT. Nothing left anymore. Never seen him drop before the last 3-5 riders.

This right here. I think the 3rd week was the big danger for Pog. His biggest chance was to build up enough of a lead over Vingo in the first 2 weeks to neuter any 3rd week losses. The lack of preparation was going to catch up to him eventually.
