Pog having some main character syndrome
I had to look that up:

"Currently, main character syndrome is a vague term, which has more media, and social media, usage than scientific. The term refers to a wide range of behaviours and thoughts, but, at root, it is when somebody presents, or imagines, themself as the lead in a sort of fictional version of their life (usually their own, although sometimes, disturbingly, somebody else’s), and presents that "life" through social media."

You can see the violet movement of Rodriguez's arms, when Skjelmose passes in front of him, it's because his handbars kick from the impact.
Still can't see it, sorry. In any case, Philipsen's (slight) movement to the right happened while van Aert was at his side, Skjelmose's movement (if there was any) happened when the other rider was pretty far behind him. In addition, van Aert's speed declines rapidly at one point - I can't see that happening in Skjelmose's sprint.

That's why I think the Philipsen incident is more serious.

Not at all, Philipsen leaves enough room on the inside for Van Aert, and doesn't really deviate much from his line.

If you want something to compare to from today, look at Ewan's sprint to the finish, he does the same as Skjelmose.

Rickaert definitely deserves some props here. It was he who took them to the front and then managed to hold on long enough so that MVDP could go full gas and deliver Jasper just in the right moment. Bravo Rickaert.
Jonas Rickaert is a great lead-out man in his own right. They have an embarrassment of riches currently in their sprint train and it's fun to watch.

Van der Poel-Philipsen really are a winning combination. Bauhaus with a really good second place as well and nice to see Ewan in the mix too.
Nice having the PR and MSR winner doing a lead out. I sometimes think he can just keep going for the win.

I think you just want to not see it. It couldn't be more obvious that Rodríguez has to make a massive correction twice in a row when Skjelmose and Bettiol cut in front of him.

Van der Poel doesn't have the same top speed of the pure sprinters, that why he is stronger in sprints that start from a lower speed, but I really hope that he has some opportunities to go for himself further down the race perhaps already in stage 8.

Mathieu after the stage

In the second stage I wanted to save as much energy as possible, because I knew that this third stage could be very tough. In the first sprinters stage, it is always very hectic. Especially because everyone still has good legs. It is then difficult to create differences, but I think we showed a perfect lead-out.

Smart call.

When will the UCI make the sprint stages less dangerous? They are getting more and more dangerous by the year. What is the point of GC teams having to sprint to the line @ 70+ kmh without having a sprinter?

Okay, I found the situation now, it was before the shot I watched. I see your point.

So Jasper-disaster strikes again! (he won the previous sprint stage at the Tour - Champs Elysees last year).
Maybe it's worth considering changing his nickname i.e. to Jasper-not-only-disaster

Ha, yes. On the Netflix series, the DS absolutely hated that nickname.

Kudos to Wout for backing off, a "proper" sprinter would've muscled their way to the line, even if it meant crashing. And "proper" sprinters almost always deviate from their lines, blocking is part of sprinting, or so they say.

Philipsen with a nice win.
Obviously he closed the gap a bit towards WVA due to the bend. He's not going to give WVA the lane to pass him, this is the TdF not boy scouts.

I remember WVA Champs-Elysées sprint 2 years ago he also deviated a bit to towards the left/boarding forcing Cav to go around and ultimately leaving him chanceless.
Not exactly the same because bend vs straight sprint but the same principle stands.

But boy, not Wout his season so far...

Edit: second 40 -ish you see the little flick to the left blocking cav

So Lafay stays another day in green. Not so stupid meme attack after all. Extra publicity and money for the team.

Not if you go by his DS. Lmao what an absolute clown, they finally get their win and this is what comes to his mind because his rider "wasted" his energy in a one minute effort?
Trying hard to prove that these 15 years of not winning weren't just about being unlucky lol
