Would have been a good excuse to do the Vuelta, though. He will definitely try to complete the GT triple later in his career, why not start now?
Eh, the wrist was probably good enough to start and give it a try. Tour > Vuelta.

The wrist would have been very bad for them to make that decision.

Maybe he starts the Vuelta anyway. Depending on how he feels after the Tour now, if he completes it.

I'd like to remind the whole "Tour is over" crowd, that last year they also said the Tour was "over" during week 1 - expecting Pogacar to be the clear winner ;)
That was all bonus seconds though. This is Pogacar being dropped hard after one attack.
