Some people are funny. They say Pog struggles in high mountains above 2000 m with a duration superior to 40 minutes. Tourmalet has all of that but now they say gradients weren't high enough. C'mon!!
If Wout wasn't up front I think Pogacar would have had to attack sooner and Vingegaard would just sit on his wheels. So maybe he gains less time. How about this ...hows about WVA wasnt up front and didnt pull
Mayeb Pog would have to have gone to the front earlier if he wanted the stage , time and bonus seconds
Just saying
Dropped on Tourmalet.Only saw the last 45 minutes. What happened to Ciccone today?
100%. Obviously they smelt blood after yesterday, but once Pogacar could follow Vingegaard on Tourmalet they should have recalculated. That was the sign that, even if you are stronger than Pogacar, you're not 'drop-him-from-40km' strong. And your certainly not strong enough to give him a free ride up the Tourmalet and not expect consequences.I'm completely stoked about todays result, but I have to repeat myself. This was utter tactical ineptitude by Jumbo. In a race where they should clearly focus on Pogacar and Pogacar alone, they drag him over the Tourmalet, drag him to the final climb and drag him to the final 3 kms, while completely exposing their leader. Even if Pog couldn't have dropped Vingegaard today, what would have been the point? Their entire focus should be on dropping Pog and today they seemed to focus on literally anything except that.
No Giro for a long time then!Pog :"10 stage victories. I am coming for you mark " ha ha
Maybe a mistake from Jumbo to use up all their domestiques early but the way Pogacar rode it probably wouldn't have mattered.Kuss would have been able to pace after Van Aert and kept a high enough pace, so that Pog wouldnt have been able to attack. Maybe a higher pace would have tired him out more.
Feel like Vingegaard was pretty unsure on what to do when he couldnt get rid of Pog. He just kept riding. Kuss would have been able to come back and started to pace again, normally, if he had been there.
Instead he got exposed, this time.
Going over Tourmalet, they kind of had to commit on what they had set out to do. With 2 minutes down to the others and Van Aert waiting.100%. Obviously they smelt blood after yesterday, but once Pogacar could follow Vingegaard on Tourmalet they should have recalculated. That was the sign that, even if you are stronger than Pogacar, you're not 'drop-him-from-40km' strong. I think if Jonas sat up and looked at Pog he wouldn't have been dropped like this.
Like I said, Pog probably wins the stage but not with the same time loss for Jonas.Maybe a mistake from Jumbo to use up all their domestiques early but the way Pogacar rode it probably wouldn't have mattered.
He knows he will lose time in the TT and that third place is more realistic than the top two. But a long way to go yet.
A happier man does not exist.Powless back in polka dots, I think that's nice.
SBS coverage is not what it used to be. I often turn the sound down now as the commentary is often nauseating..............The Australian coverage is nauseating, It’s all about Hindley without paying enough attention to the stage…
I don’t get how we haven’t moved beyond this
Of course.I didnt say he'd win ..I meant he will be better in relation to the other 2 in final week
