Happy for Pedersen, was a bit afraid when he won the World Champs that it was perhaps too early and could've been a bit of a Costa-style outlier but he has really fulfilled his potential well, loved seeing his escapades in the Vuelta last year. Still saying that pull on the front of the break away from Ciccone the other day was dumb as *** though.

Jumbo got the last 10kms wrong - You can't have Laporte pulling the peleton in the last 10kms, and expect him to do a strong leadout - This cost VWA the stage win.

I agree on saving Laporte for the lead out.

That being said his lead out was fine, he was just unlucky Pedersen went on the right before even the leads out men were done, and when MvdP kicked on his left, he had nowhere to go, so WvA had to slot into Philipsens wheel.

Long power sprints are not a part of Mathieu's proper. I think the pick of Jasper was absolutely right by Alapacin. However, he could do zero to an uphull Pedersen power sprint efforts at its peak after a hard raced stage.
Indeed not for the long sprints but if it was a normal leadout untill last 200m with these percentages Mathieu can also do his kick here. Mads was really strong though, went from 300m.

Pogi 10th and you see a yellow helmet grinding at the back of the front group. Jumbo no one left to help. Still don’t get this.

Pedersen was unlucky yesterday, being boxed in - today he was lucky that the Jumbo Visma leadout went to one side instead of the other. It's the small things that decide success and failure here. :)

Groenewegen loves to get dropped on shallow bumps in the Dauphine and then surprise everyone at the tour, think he might've pulled this same trick last year.

Actually, Groenewegen was disappointing in stage three in an easier finish, while he was better in stage stage and better today.

TJV burned too many riders too early in the chase, should have trusted other teams to take part in the chase 10-20k from the finish.
It was worrying sign to see just Hooydonck, Vinge, Laporte and van Aert on the last climb.
Benoot should have been there also, taking over after Hooydonck. Now Vinge was confused when Hooydonck was finished: I shouldn't pull should I? Laporte finally took over but it was too early to have him in front, hell he even had to chase down Campenaerts.

Bad tactics by TJV. Again.

I didn't watch most of it but why did Jumbo even chase? Only to please Van Aert?

It's the Tour. It's how Jumbo races, every year.

Van Aert does some massive pulls in a mountain stage for the GC leader, then he gets the freedom to target specific stages himself.

It sounds great in theory & it actually did work last year, but so far... it's not going well. The team spent energy today which they absolutely shouldn't have done.

We don't care.

But it looks like he might get to 35 before Cav.
