No. I said he might not have it...and if so, go to plan B.
But haven't they been doing plan B all along?

Wout isn't going for Green because he might leave early, he has still been going for stages and gotten the support of entire team minus Jonas. Putting Jonas on lead out duty makes it a self-fulfilling prophecy. Wout going for green would just minimize his odds at getting stage wins, since Alpecin would ride against him as soon as he won his first intermediate sprint.

Ofcourse, he *might* not have it.... But based on facts alone, he's in a better position than last year.

Unless you have some facts I've missed out on?
It will be interesting to see whether he will be in better position than last year after stage 11 though...

Hmmm....

This was 1 year ago, after stage 9:

RNK.RIDERTEAMTIME
1POGAČAR TadejUAE Team Emirates33:43:44
2VINGEGAARD JonasJumbo-Visma0:39
3THOMAS GeraintINEOS Grenadiers1:17
4YATES AdamINEOS Grenadiers1:25
5GAUDU DavidGroupama - FDJ1:38

But you're ready to call it; Vingegaard doesn't have it.
But Pog was the one expended more energy last year vs this year Vinge has been at the front every stage. Pog also decided to lose more time but save energy by dropping back to Adam and the group on stage 5.

Overall both riders have been very close in level and JV has underrated Pog’s level which should in theory get better as the race goes on. Pog doesn’t have a threat to chase but Adam could be dangerous in a big break.

Is this where we post rest day news?

AG2R has given up on Ben O'Connor for the GC and has turned to Felix Gall, currently 16th, for GC placement.

Fabio Jakobsen says he's leaving Soudal-Quickstep and Lefevre at the end of the year.

Pogi says he's feeling better every day.

Remco will ride in the Vuelta.

"Expending" is probably what you meant... Otherwise this is mostly speculation and not based on facts/evidence.
Sure, Pogachar can very well win - but so far, he's factually in a worse position than last year.

Which of the two is able to stay in form better during a 3 week race will probably decide it. But 9 stages doesn't tell THAT tale.

Yes expended, and no. Pog showed he can drop Vinge which he couldn’t do last year. Vinge has put in far more effort than Pog has. Pog doesn’t have to worry about Roglic The team and Pog are actually taking the heat very seriously. Vinge and Jumbo have gotten egg on their face. Just because he’s behind doesn’t mean he’s in a worse position.

Ok - I'll take your word for it - because you provided no actual facts to back it up - so it remains speculation ;)

What the .... are you trying to say? That Kuss got x-ray vision? Or just that you're a homophobe?

Oh, or maybe just "asking questions?"

Both Jonas and Pogi are wearing their sunglasses so nobody has the advantage. In order to achieve the necessary marginal gains, Sepp needs to transfer some of his no-sunglasses energy into the legs of Jonas.

Well, no.
Factually after the first 3 mountain stages last year (which happened to be after stage 12) Pogacar was in much worse position - 2.30 behind, used much more energy and with worse team (Bennet and Laengen were DNF and Hirschi was basically dead weight the whole Tour).

Unless you realistically think that Vingegaard can gain 2 minutes in the next 2 stages, your point about Pogacar's position is irrelevant. In fact:
"Vingegaard can very well win, but he will be in a worse position than he was last year".

Cherry picking again I see....
2022 TdF had 6 mountain stages.

This year has 8 mountain stages.

But if it suits your narrative - go with it :p

Edit: And if you want to argue against the FACT that after NINE stages Vinge is in a better position this year than last year.... Keep sealioning and gaslighting ;)

After 11 stages Pogacar will be in better position (safe for a crash etc).
Actually the cherry picking is made by you, taking stage 9 as a reference knowing that stage 11 was the crucial one. And this year we have a flat stage.

Just to make it clear, do you honestly believe that Pogacar will be 2.30 behind before Friday and if not, how on earth do you claim that Vingegaard is in better position than last year?*

*At the moment he is, but how relevant will that be before stage 13?
