One trick pony ? Best sprinter ever ...and that is harder than most things in cycling

Thing that makes them faster on descends is getting towed by the cars

Another reason is weight - what is harder to drag uphill, comes down the other side faster

That being said, it has been a long standing truth that heavier riders learn to be better descenders, because throughout their career that is where they can gain time.
