All the hipsters in the best descender thread trying to argue that guys like Cavandish and gronewgen are better descender than fking Nibali will tell you that time limits will be no problem for these boys.

If they can cool him down, I think he survives. It takes a lot to not make the time cut.
Issue would be stage 2 and 4 now being dropped so soon. “Frodo” needs his Samwise Gamgee and Fellowship of the Astana. They’re showing back replays and he’s been getting water poured on him like crazy.

Shouldn't Astana send Lutsenko back to help Cav? This is Cavendish we're talking about. They're going to need a stretcher to get him to the finish line.

Tomorrow is no issue.

Even being British I don’t want this. If would not be good to see the Merckx record broken by a 1 trick pony no matter how elite he is at that trick.
One trick pony ? Best sprinter ever ...and that is harder than most things in cycling
Save the outright record for Pogacar in a few years time.

If Pog is as good as you think he will just go one better...no need to save any record

Thing that makes them faster on descends is getting towed by the cars

Another reason is weight - what is harder to drag uphill, comes down the other side faster ;)

That being said, it has been a long standing truth that heavier riders learn to be better descenders, because throughout their career that is where they can gain time.
