I tried to not believe Niermann when he said "Jonas, you can catch him on the next hill"...Never believe anything Jumbo says about their riders before a race.

No. I liked this stage.Potomac vindicated they should've just let Healy and the rest of the circus take 15 minutes up front.
In these gradients and starting so slow you got almost no slipstream. Should just started beside him, he was a tiny bit faster but started behind.Jonas definitely benefited from starting the sprint there instead of waiting for Tadej to do it. Sure you don't want to be on the front in that situation, but if you are at least you're better off taking the initiative.
That is a bit over the top, tbh.Vingegaard gains 1s today but it almost feels like another Granon/Loze meltdown from Pog.
With a bit of a grade to fight, yeah.Jonas definitely benefited from starting the sprint there instead of waiting for Tadej to do it. Sure you don't want to be on the front in that situation, but if you are at least you're better off taking the initiative.
This seems likely at this point, although Vingegaard will have to do it all without the benefit of any team support because Visma is ass in the mountains.Thomas looks to have nailed it. Vingo is getting stronger and Pog is on the decline. I expect we might see a repeat of last year, with Pog cracking massively on a stage. The G-T double is hard enough without trying to do it against the 2-time defending Tour champion and best grand tour racer of the peloton.
Chapeau to Vingo, this is turning out to be a great Tour so far. Kudos to Remco and Roglic keeping it close as well.
No need to be snooty about it; my point was that prior to this stage I doubt UAE thought Vingo would be like this and were seeing if they could stick the knife in him. Clearly Jonas is far better than they expected, so yes, now we know this version of Jonas is nearly as good as last year's model. Agree with your second point obviously.Ok, but only a very naive person would think that Almeida, Yates or Ayuso can drop Vingegaard uphill.
The more worrying part is that Pogacar lost 34s on the 2nd climb after getting an initial gap with his explosiveness.
He gained most of the time because the two in front looked at each other before the sprint.Wow, Remco recovered well.
If Pog loses this tour he has to stop doing the year long peak. You can’t keep turning up here and getting cooked, needs to peak for this race alone
This is what I thought, too, only at the top, I believe, did he get gels from the neutral vehicle. Huge failure from UAE [IF I am correct in this]Did Pogacar not fuel himself well or something, he looked really off it from 20km to go
He looked like he ran out of juice I agree.After seeing sprint,I tend to believe Rasmussen below;

Most likely so..Great ride by Vingo though.Did Pogacar not fuel himself well or something, he looked really off it from 20km to go
The sport needs the two, if there was only one, it would be so dull.Is great to see another huge chapter in the biggest rivalry in the sport happening today, these two riders very difficult to separate again. It's a shame they are both a minute behind Pogacar and Vingegard
