easy to look with hindsight - he would have felt strong when he attacked. Vigno measured his effort perfectly the hypebole after one or the other has a bad stage is ridiculous. Still difficult to call the tour overall.

Pogi outsprinted by Vingo = cooked on the day. Went too early or did something wrong along the way
At some point being on top for your 2nd grand tour in row might start to catch up with you a bit.

This is why Pog really needs to quit being ballsy and ride 100% clever. Its less exciting for us - but winning would be worth it, I think.

losing 30 seconds on that stage profile after with the two at front crawling and after yesterdays test day sprint. Not good
You have to consider the Key moment had 1,3 al 13 %...it is not the best for him those kind of slopes, and he is not a good descender for techinical parts. In the rest he has been very good.

UAE will be hoping it was just fuelling because he looked good on Puy Mary. Then again, even if it was then it will have taken a significant effort riding like that on empty which could bleed into the rest of the race.

Wow, what a stage! As expected, Pogacar attacks, gains some time on Peyrol and increases the gap on the descent. Game over for the rest? No, epic fightback by Vingo on Pertus climb: he overcame about 30 s of a gap to Pogacar and also distanced Rogla and Evenepoel by about 40-45 s. But the most shocking part was at the end: he beat Pogacar in a sprint! While almost no changes happened between them in the GC it's obvious that it was Vingo, who dealt a psychological blow today to UAE and Pog. The Tour is very much on and Vingo today showed how strong he really is, unbelievable under the circumstances. Teddy, despite his GC lead, will face a difficult battle to win on the race's biggest climbs.

But let's not overreact, Pogacar could still be the strongest in the big mountains. But of course great signs for Jonas
Hard to believe after Vingegaard was always better in longer efforts. And today as well came back over a longer effort. Strategy for Pogacar should be the good old Sky one. Domestiques ride a tempo that makes it really hard for anyone to attack and then he does mountain sprints.

But even then. Ofc Vingegaard can drop Almeida, Yates and Ayuso whenever he wants.

And, even if its a stalemate now, I would be very worried for the time trial, if I was Pogacar.

So the ball might even be somehow on his side to win more time. And that seems tough.

Visma is so much better than UAE, specially on nutrition.

Tactically, nutrition...

UAE have a lot of resources, all the riders...

Pogi would probably have an even better palmares if Mauro Gianetti had been banned from the sport... probably lost quite a lot of brain cells with all the drug abuse, time in a coma etc...
