Morkov has the bug and ... according to the esteemed Mr Ring, https://inrng.com/2024/07/tour-de-france-stage-12-preview-villeneuve-sur-lot/#more-44760
Pello Bilbao lost 40 minutes and Fred Wright was outside of the time limit. Your blogger was in the village départ and instead of slamming pâté on toast noticed some Bahrain riders arrived in a separate vehicle, wearing masks, and stayed away from the bus as if quarantined. Cofidis lost two riders. Fingers crossed.
Get your face mask ready ...:(

So is this a "peloton rolls in 20 minutes after the winner" stage, or is it too early for that? There's still a few sprinters wanting a win (and maybe Philipsen wants the Green Jersey) so I'd go for "sprint day".

Profile looks like it would be better raced in reverse? Most likely a break. Hopefully a name that doesn't get many opportunities.

That would hurt the sprinter's chances, and TDF is all about sprinters, can't have them not getting a bunch sprint.

This is definitely Philipsens to lose. If he'd won more stages, I'd say the break could take it, but now he (and Alpecin) is hungry for more. I'm sure Jayco can sacrifice a man or two as well.

Abrahamsen likely to try a break yet again.

Lotto will be going in the break if it's more than 5 guys. I only see Alpecin (they need Philipsen to win to have a chance at green still) and maybe Jayco really wanting to control. A break definitely has a chance if enough teams try (and seems like some riders think it will happen finally).

If they're not in the move, I think the likes of Israel and Movistar also have reason to contribute. Lot of teams in this race with maybe a 5% chance of winning this sprint that don't have all that much else to do.

Anders Mielke (Eurosport reporter) saying to Vingegaard - in reference to his win yesterday and his VERY slowly growing moustache:

"It's the magic moustache isn't it?"

Vingegaard replies:

"Yeah I think so, but I guess it will be shaved off at one point... when the boss is coming" (in reference to his wife) :D

I don't understand how this keeps on happening, you'd think security would be super tight during the Tour. Maybe Visma can lease them some bikes?
Maybe so! The article says that TotalEnergies is working with other teams to have enough bikes.
