IMO it's smart tactics.

Either they bring Yates back in GC, which means he can be used offensively in the mountains - or they force Visma to deplete their team today, ahead of the two big stages on the weekend.
Looks like Visma don't even have to ride though. Ineos, QS and teams wanting the stage are riding instead. Yates is a bigger danger to Remco and CRod than he is to Vingegaard

UAE with the drunken monkey tactic.
Ayuso dropping out and they have Adam Yates waste energy in the breakaway before 2 big MTFs.
Today the breakaway is being kept on a tight leash, so it's a rather pointless move by him...
I bet the other GC teams are wasting more of their riders trying to keep the break at bay than Yates wastes himself. Or at any rate you use one rider to drain the energy from 10+ opposing domestiques.

You would think that the front group will be dysfunctional at one point...already more passengers there. In 10-15 kms if it stays at a minute some riders will be probably a bit bit more chill in the break because they know they can't keep that up against the peleton

Lol, sticky bottle situations: Intermarche rider holding a bottle for ten seconds, then receiving another bottle, then giving that bottle back to the driver. Also, we saw Wellens get his radio fixed - why is that even allowed. A radio is not important for completing the stage.
It's not. I'm sure they wish the camera didn't catch it. Probably a monetary fine from Der Kommissar.
