But riders in the peloton also don't have unlimited power
But Lemmen, Geschke, the Arkea guys, the Ag2r guys, Thomas, Turner and 10 other guys don't have to win the stage in the end. If the teams stay committed there are easily 20 domestiques that can pull all day long

Also Wanty will ride at some point if the stage win looks close. Maybe also Bora for van Poppel because what else have they left other then that...

UAE is playing wisely this time, I know they are dumb as hell but today they are good, this is all about Pogacar after all. They are burning a domestique to create a better scenario to their leader. How is this a bad thing? They still maintain Almeida high in the GC even if yates loses a lot of time tomorrow

Agreed. And it has turned out very well for them.

In the short term it looks good for them, but isn't making the race harder what Visma want to do in the longer term? And it's not really Visma having to work on the front of the peloton right now...

Maybe, but at a certain point Cofidis, Arkea, Decathlon might just say f*ck it. It's over for us. Then you have just 3 Teams chasing.

I wonder if they can convince Yates to drop down if the peloton gets close so that the rest of them have a chance to increase the gap again. Or if it will come together and a completely different group will go.
