UAE is playing wisely this time, I know they are dumb as hell but today they are good, this is all about Pogacar after all. They are burning a domestique to create a better scenario to their leader. How is this a bad thing? They still maintain Almeida high in the GC even if yates loses a lot of time tomorrow
They are doing the perfect job for Vingegaard.

They are burning Yates, they are making the race hard again, just like in the last days. Everybody will start to be tired in the Pyrenees, and even more in the last week.

So Ayuso, who's been struggling since stage 1, gives up with covid? I'm no boffin in a white coat, but that sounds not the complete story.
Pog said he himself had covid before the tour though so it doesn't sound unlikely.

He might well have Covid, but he's been struggling since stage 1. Has he had Covid all that time?
I wouldn't say he has struggled that long. But about the amount of days it might take to turn a test positive, possibly.

Yates is working way less than other GC teams domestiques

Yates is not a GC threat, never was. This is Pogacar vs Vingegaard. [[content deleted]]

Same with Mørkøv and Kragh. The explanations might be right in some cases, but not in all of them.

The good news about that is that it's highly unlikely that Tadej will get it again before the end of the race.
Sadly that's also incorrect. And Almeida is prone to infections I'd say. Luckily he doesn't like Ayuso so probably have stayed far away from him

Yates must be really loved in the peloton. I think other riders would have been bullied into submission in case he were the rider that was dragging everyone down.
I think I recall Cadel Evan getting up the road in an early move on Stage 9 2020 TDF after dropping 3 minutes on GC and the rest of the riders remonstrated with him heavily not far short of physically attacking him until he gave in to the bullying and dropped back.
