Understatement of the year...Cycling in an awful state
As a fan you like to see the wealth spread a bit. It's one of the best things about cycling.I'll never understand the view that athletes shouldn't race to win.
Did merckx hand out stage wins?
The absolutely insane thing to me is that he didn't look tired at all guys... Check his previous wins against Vingegaard or in general in 2023/2022/2021 etc and compared his facial expression to the 2024 wins... His face is completely different.
We need Vingegaard in perfect shape in 2025.
Better numbers than he has ever ridden thats just a facts and he even said it himself its no point of me and you arguing that when he said it himselfRight cos Vingegaard was on top condition this year![]()
yep... and this one looks 100% legit lmaoArmstrong didn't want to take some wins because he didn't want to draw negative attention on himself or his team, given their proclivity for some "pick me up help".
Tbf, sports that are uncompetitive do suffer with viewership and lose money as a result. Look at the procession that is mens cross country skiing without the Russians, or biathlon cos of JTB. Cycling is already a rather non casual friendly sport, having it be a procession just makes it worse. There must be some other sport where it’s normal expected to give wins away?
no, it's exciting in a hulk hogan ripping his shirt off at the republican national convention kinda way!!Cycling in an awful state
A procession would be sitting on wheels of second and third, no? You honor the sport by racing the stage. Merckx and Hinault raced this wayTbf, sports that are uncompetitive do suffer with viewership and lose money as a result. Yer that looked like he had another gear or two there. He sort of knocked it off after he got a gap to JorgensenThis is unreal. He is climbing that fast without even pushing right now... We are watching a monster in an insane physical condition
You actually thought Evenepoel still had a shot at beating Pogacar going into today? That makes Abi look tame...Damn it all...another year without a Tour victory for Belgium.
