No it isn't.

There has to be some selection, and a smaller group works better than a bigger group when the finish approaches. Also, for the individual rider, it is the personal success, not the collective success of the group that's relevant.
The 4 riders that were dropped are 10 seconds behind at the top and will likely make it back on the descent, no selection has been made and they've burnt matches. Personal success is dependant on group cohesion for as long as possible when you've got a motivated peloton behind.

Looks like Jonas will be isolated on the ultimate climb, UAE now in perfect position to do something, with their superstar line-up. Bora hopefully to still have something left, for the final touches.

OK.
Pre 1st San Luca ascent I was sure the victory was going to be between the GC guys.
But the UAE laziness here, I now clearly believe most in the breakaway.
