Guys if Pogi isn't burning up his superstar team members GC ambitions, then no way Rogla is helping him get a couple of bonus seconds advantage today. On top of that Visma should work for Wout first.

This stage really feels like a random stage 13 breakaway stage

Maybe it's because we open with three long stages (for modern standards). I know the 'design experts' refuse to buy into the notion that short stages create better riding but I think we see too many examples of that to believe it.

And lets not forget, Rogla is here for the overall and not for a stage win. It suits him if he doesn't lose any time today against Pogi. The ideas circulating on social media, on how Rogla is here, at best, for a podium position.

Yes, long stages favour the break relative to short stages. I think that's a point in favour of greater distances.
