Is having the yellow tomorrow really such a burden? The sprint teams will take care of the pacing on the stage. After that is the Galibier stage, which you'd think they'd race the same way whether Tadej is in yellow or not.
It’s not the in-race responsibilities, it’s all the additional media duties the yellow jersey imposes on its wearer. They’re not inconsiderable, and often involves getting back to the hotel hours after your team mates, eating alone, getting to bed later etc. Given the margins between success and failure, it’s much too early in the race for any potential winner to want the ‘privilege.’

looks like brilliant tactics by EF to keep their powder dry, and now they sit pretty in GC. always believed in Big Vaught.
Vaughters is wasting energy on GC, Carapaz is a good racer but a little out classed. If " Big Vaught" had any sense he would see that Ben Healy and Alberto Bettiol have form and exploit it.. If EF supports either they can get a stage. Ben Healy obviously has something, just doesn't know what to do with it and when.. Roglic falling in the toilet today probably has Vaughters little mind racing and yes Carapaz could draft off of Remco..but come on..

Analysis so far:

Visma and Jonas is super strong, but lacks climbers to pull what they did the previous years and make the race real hard. UAE now clearly has the upper hand in the mountains, and so if there was any reason to bring Almeida and Ayuso at all, it should actually be to use them aggressively already on stage 4. Of course, UAE doesn't do that because Almeida and Ayuso rides their own race, so there's no merit to them being here anyways. But point being its clearly a different situation, also with the Giro and the Vingegaard injury. Lots of unknowns and a very different scenario

The first 23 are still within 21 seconds on GC, so there is a lot of racing still to be done before we can say anything definitive :)

Gee and Thomas are the only real casualties so far.

The GC is still close but let's be honest, others only hope to win is that both Pogacar and Vingegaard will crash or feel the legs in the last part of the race (the former due to the Giro and the latter due to rushed preparations).
