The KoM competition didn't really get into gear this year either. The battle was between Catapaz and the top GC. Good that no GC guys won it. But I miss a contest between several riders till the end. (Abrahamsen doesn't really count - it was just for the show.)

his qualification, other than being multilingual, is to ask soft ball questions of someone full of emotion, adrenaline and a bit knackered...normally.

tbh just getting coherent sentences out of riders at this stage is a skill in itself.

he usually asks stuff that sum up the moment, its never going to anything but superficial
At least he should pose questions.

I was so confused by the woman walking up to Pogacar with that pillow. Turns out there was a mic on it... thought they were thinking that now he deserved a nap!

Nah, Vingegaards loss is more severe as he never cracked and got 6 minutes nonetheless. He even said he was better than ever. So it's a crushing defeat imo, even though his preparation was very problematic, because he still was on great form.
You could argue that cracking your rival so badly that they concede on the team radio in the middle of a stage is more of a beat down.

But I think even a perfectly prepared Jonas loses to this version of Pog by 3-4 minutes.

Interesting in the end it looks like Vingegaard's pacing plan was probably outlined months ago knowing what they needed to do to win, but in the end he just couldn't hold it, too nackered after 3 weeks and no baseline.
