Thanks!
I would say underwhelming. He has terrific power, never giving Jasper a chance to come around from his wheel in the Belgium road race. De Lie couldn't get the sprint figured out this year, finding himself blocked or back in the pack. I hope he has a better Tour next year.So de Lie starts his last ride of this Tour. Underwhelming first Tour or expected result?
Should be most of it apart from the switchbacksWith the speed of the best riders on Turbie and the many switchbacks, I wonder how much of the climbing will be done in TT position. Maybe half the time of the ascent?
I'd say mostly as expected. At least at this stage of his career, the guy simply isn't world class at pure bunch sprints, so on this route basically his only chances of getting a stage win were the uphill sprint on stage 8 and getting in the break on stage 9. If ASO are indeed going to spice up their easier stages for next year, he will have better opportunities. So de Lie starts his last ride of this Tour. Underwhelming first Tour or expected result?
I completely forgot Cav puked on his bike just a couple of weeks ago, the Tour has flown by just like that.Cavendish vs puke reflex >> GC battle
Have to admit that the sprinter stages we have witnessed with no breakaway initiative resulting in total snooze parties have dragged it down, apart from that I've been excellently entertained.Wow, you really think it's been that good of a Tour? Now I'm curious to see how everyone rates this edition.
It‘s almost impossible to get to the climbs because the race is taking most of the roads.Less fans along the road than expected considering the TDF final stage..
I posted about stage 8 being his best chance and he got boxed in. A learning experience and Lotto did not expect more and hopefully he's got some better positional awareness. So de Lie starts his last ride of this Tour. Underwhelming first Tour or expected result?
that's not very NiceParis, there is no substitute.
2025 is starting in De Lie's neck of the woods so expecting big things next year!I'd say mostly as expected. At least at this stage of his career, the guy simply isn't world class at pure bunch sprints, so on this route basically his only chances of getting a stage win were the uphill sprint on stage 8 and getting in the break on stage 9. I didn't realize he had so much gray hair!Chapeau Cav
