Carapaz would be worthy but with a jersey and a stage win they will probably tip a nod elsewhere.
As discussed earlier in the thread; Carapaz did indeed win it.

Guarantee he gets bored in about 6 months and starts making noises about doing olympic track eventsSomeone as competitive as him and cycling being his entire life he'll probably enjoy a break, but then he'll get the itch...
I don't remember him threatening for a stage win, but he was an outstanding lead out for Jasper. That alone makes his Tour a success, IMO.CN live update said "not the race he was hoping for" about vdP.
Folks sure have short memories. He's doing the same thing as last year - using the TdF as training. It worked for Worlds last year; we'll see about the Olympics. He looks pretty lean and fit at the moment.

First I was like - wow, great TT by Martinez. But ok, if you only do recovery rides for 3 weeks, ofc you are fresh.Has Lenny only come for the TTs?
that's not very Nic
In addition, there is hardly anyone sitting in those standsatmosphere of the finish line kind of sucks, the forward facing grandstands are probably nice for the spectators but they mean you can't see everyone cheer the finishers
Think it is a bit harsh last year where he was exemplary for Philipsen but this year the leadouts were nowhere near as prominent or dominant and he never got close in the breaks he did enter.Nothing to do with short memories. He had a crap Tour last year and has one this year too.
His Tour this year was more crap by far though. But probably will show up at Olympics strong anywayNothing to do with short memories. He had a crap Tour last year and has one this year too.
I suspect that, whether with Astana or a GB team, he will appear at the Tour of Britain in September.Someone as competitive as him and cycling being his entire life he'll probably enjoy a break, but then he'll get the itch...
The coastal scenery makes if feel like we're in the middle of the Tour rather than the very end of it. I want the Champs-Élysées back.Paris, there is no substitute.
I'm really happy for Carapaz but I thought Abrahamsen really did some nice work in the first two weeks. I think there was some recency bias at work here.I'm referring to Carapaz as King Richard from now on. Fantastic Tour from him this year!
King Richie and Emperor PogI'm referring to Carapaz as King Richard from now on. Fantastic Tour from him this year!
So... what happens if riders like Cavendish or Girmay do go OTL?
"Too bad, Bini. You thought you'd won green, but... nah! OTL!"
what if Pogi does a Rasmussen & finishes OTL?So... what happens if riders like Cavendish or Girmay do go OTL?

Well, the time limit is 30%, it would be deserved if they didn‘t try hard enough to stay in the race.So... what happens if riders like Cavendish or Girmay do go OTL?

True, Abrahamsen did very well the first couple of weeks, Carapaz is just fresher in the memory. In my mind they can share the award.I'm really happy for Carapaz but I thought Abrahamsen really did some nice work in the first two weeks. I think there was some recency bias at work here.
