Folks sure have short memories. He's doing the same thing as last year - using the TdF as training. It worked for Worlds last year; we'll see about the Olympics. He looks pretty lean and fit at the moment.

I don't remember him threatening for a stage win, but he was an outstanding lead out for Jasper. That alone makes his Tour a success, IMO.

First I was like - wow, great TT by Martinez. But ok, if you only do recovery rides for 3 weeks, ofc you are fresh.

Final ITTs are excellent for your own personal "wtf this guy rode the tour!?" list. So far I have Turner and Bisegger on mine

that's not very Nic

atmosphere of the finish line kind of sucks, the forward facing grandstands are probably nice for the spectators but they mean you can't see everyone cheer the finishers

In addition, there is hardly anyone sitting in those stands

Think it is a bit harsh last year where he was exemplary for Philipsen but this year the leadouts were nowhere near as prominent or dominant and he never got close in the breaks he did enter.

The coastal scenery makes if feel like we're in the middle of the Tour rather than the very end of it. I want the Champs-Élysées back.

I'm really happy for Carapaz but I thought Abrahamsen really did some nice work in the first two weeks. I think there was some recency bias at work here.

Well, the time limit is 30%, it would be deserved if they didn‘t try hard enough to stay in the race.

True, Abrahamsen did very well the first couple of weeks, Carapaz is just fresher in the memory. In my mind they can share the award.
