Insanely boring stage until someone tries on the last climb, before it all ends in a bunch sprint.

But while it is boring for us, I think it's a healthy sign, because it means every team in the peloton has specific goals and will not waste energy just to get on TV.

To me it is a sign cycling in improving.

Did he? His team said they don't care and won't be setting up a train for him, or anyhting.
"Het zou natuurlijk wel fantastisch zijn als ik effectief het geel zou pakken. Dus áls het zo is, ga ik er zeker van genieten", is what he said yesterday.

He normally is also far enough ahead of Carapaz to not need to sprint anyway. Usually the GC guys finish somewhere around ~25th, and I'd doubt that Carapaz can Top 10 a sprint.

Realistically Carapaz can take yellow only in case Evenepoel has some kind of issues in the final kms.

With all the sprinter teams at full strength with their trains rearing to go - and then throwing both EF and Soudal into the mix and doing trains for yellow - it can become quite a chaotic finish.

Is this a stage where the last 3km rule is changed to 4 or 5km? Can’t find the post anymore.

Uno-X are insane!

Danish TV2 just showed a pre-race interview with Cort, saying he is part of Kristoff's train today.

The guy couldn't position himself to save his life

Pedersen before Philipsen, who was way too far back. Strange leadout from Alpecin. His acceleration is ready for a stage win though. Hope they stays safe in the first sprint, everyone will be fresh after this snoozefest.

Danish commentary remarking on the special shape of the Lidl Trek bidons, while Pedersen is in picture drinking, which have been created for a better aero profile.

Hushovd said that the final three men are likely to be Abrahamsen - Waerenskjold - Kristoff, so I guess Cort's part will come fairly early on

That would make sense, he can definitely pull from say 5K to 1K, but he has no business being part of the actual final K train - that's why he never really became a sprinter, despite being fast enough.

There would be a decent break if the stage was 160kms.
