btw: This was the first stage I watched what apparently is a Eurosport feed with no studio commentary, just Jens on motorbike and the finish line reporter. MUCH BETTER experience [for me personally]! I didn't know this existed!!

I was for one week in 2020 TDF with friends and it was a blast. We were with two motorhomes and some days there was a problem who to put behind the wheel. Since I am not much of a drinker these days it felt like 24/7 party to me. Some fans are undestructible.

Unfortunately was not there for the final week. Now I want to try a little less wild version with kids as soon as they will have enough patience and independance.

2020? Could you even travel abroad at that time?

I envy the villagers who can just watch the race from their windows or from their doorsteps... I'm sure for some it's a huge hassle if they're not fans of cycling. But for those who are, well, I envy them.
I have seen the tour at least a dozen times over the years, this year was the best as I live in Dijon about 10 minutes from the finish. Had a place in the VIP stands so didn't have to stand for hours with the great unwashed . Of course you don't see much of the race but the ambiance is what it's all about, it's a huge show. One year I met up with Chris E (RIP) in Paris.

Pog when interviewed yesterday. He has become jaded with these sprint stages, and he is right.

Yet even after increasing his advantage over Vingegaard, Pogacar displayed a surprising sense of ennui when asked how he was feeling about the stages to come.
“This year’s Tour is a bit strange,” he said. “There’s nothing to look forward to. Tomorrow is another stressful day, then another stressful day, then the rest day. Then another stressful day and another stressful day.”

This route is awful from stage 5 to stage 13. There is a TT with 25 km, a gravel stage with zero climbing difficulties and a medium mountain stage. Of course he is getting bored, he can't wait to kill Jonas for good.

I was watching via what some might refer to as an "unauthorized source"
Without my " unauthorized sources " I would miss most of the races, A satellite dish w USA channels that includes Peacock and a couple other sports is @$62 bucks a month for nothing!!! Absolutely crap..my unauthorized is @$8 dollars US and I get everything.. Can watch race in Argentine Spanish, from Spain, France, Germany, English or Italy and w zero interruptions in the signals. If I were watching in the US have the barrel in my mouth!!
And on Spanish stations ,you hear Jens in his Arnold Terminator sounding English, then Contador, Juan Antonio Fletcha, Sanchez all give opinion. The entire broadcast team in Spain is excellent.

I didn't realize that Pedersen had such a serious crash. Hopefully he'll be recovered in time for the Olympics.

It's no coincidence that the top 3 of today consists of sprinters who are also good in the classics. Those little climbs made it just hard enough to bury the pure sprinters next to Charles de Gaulle.

Girmay took his second and made it look easy. His next goal will be to take the green jersey all the way to Nice. De Lie looked good as well, but waited a little too long and got locked in.
