Rick: If I gave you any thought I probably would.

Didn’t they stick a subjective behavioral interpretation on him rather than a specific rule? The rules are there for a reason. If you break them, you have to deal with the consequences.
Hopefully the team takes care of it but yeah, 200 francs is not too bad.The fine could have been lower but I think it was pretty mild for potentially impeding the rider behind him.
It is pretty much impossible to pull off. But he certainly has a lot of guts and power. Is he really going to pull this off?
I missed whatever happened (woke up late)...but I agree about the character statement.Hopefully the team takes care of it but yeah, 200 francs is not too bad.
If the UCI had cited “impeding a rider” I think it would have looked better for them, but the had to go with “the reputation of the sport” or some such nonsense.
Stuff like this is what gave/gives cycling a lot of its character, that unique connection to the fans. A beautiful part of the sport. Unfortunately “character” does not mix well with “bureaucrats”.
Yep. The minutes are dropping. It is pretty much impossible to pull off. But he certainly has a lot of guts and power.
OnleySome French guys on the tarmac.
Barguil, Dujardin, and someone else.
He needs no wind strong enough to make the GC teams move and a bit of a standoff between the different sprint teams in committing more to the chase. You know I think this could end up being a lot closer than the commentators are letting on. This guy was exceptional in long early breaks in the classics and knows how to pace himself, he also would've won a very long one in Tirreno if Pidcock didn't inexplicably decide to do some absurd sprint leadout at the end. There isn't much terrain ahead that suits the sprinters over him even with teammates. They just need to underestimate him a bit and for a bit of bad luck in the bunch and he he has a chance.
Why so many campervans gathered at such an insignificant part of the route?
I always wondered about that, too. I had the opportunity to follow a stage a few years ago in a sponsor vehicle (technically, ahead of the race behind the publicity caravan), and there were clusters of campers like that all along the route. I think it’s just a pleasant way to spend the day, I assume they’re watching online too.Why so many campervans gathered at such an insignificant part of the route?
They are probably in one of the designated parking areas. Why so many campervans gathered at such an insignificant part of the route?
