My first reaction on seeing that wine bottle label was that they had selected Teutenberg, because everytime I see his name the kerning seems to make it look like Tim Tom, rather than Tim Torn. I have genuinely only become aware while checking for this post that the name ends RN, not in an M.
My first reaction was to wonder why Giulio isn't a fine enough first name to feature.

I actually looked at the wrong table in one of the other threads (I think the Israel one)

A stage win is worth more points than 11th on GC and 4 stage 5th places are worth more than 10th on GC so it makes sense to have a rider who can score points in the flat stages with 7 to 9 stages possibly ending in large group sprints.

Well there's just no point selecting a team purely made to ride for Enric when you look at who's lining up. Great to have some options, and maybe Enric will finally be in a decent position coming into the 3rd week and get a top-5 or something similar like that.

Re Almeida "not being content"; his face always betrays emotions. Can't you tell? He was genuinely happy to work for Yates and being second. Part of it probably because his shape has been uncertain after another covid infection in the beginning of the year.

Also Yates doesn't come off as sneaky.

The only one who might mess things up really is Ayuso. He's also crash prone which is another way to mess up.

Why is he genuinely happy to work for Yates and to finish second, after already gifting a stage win to Yates and pushing best numbers, though? The only reason left i see as possibility is he is co-leading the UAE Tour team and expects Yates to be on board with that. We'll see.

Lenny Martinez to ride the Tour!

GROUPAMA-FDJ
GAUDU David
GENIETS Kevin
GRÉGOIRE Romain
KÜNG Stefan
MADOUAS Valentin

RUSSO Clément

Madiot can keep his job, for now.
Interesting!

Just looking through all the teams, the level will be incredibly high (duh). But really, all these teams seem to really have topped off their squads and only a few sprinters and GC-riders from the Giro are missing. Milan and Ganna seems to be the two biggest riders really, and then you have some second and their tier GC-riders as well. This will be a good (and fast) one lads.

I really cannot wait when reading through all these selected riders.

The AG2R team is looking solid, Gall needs more rouleur support on flat stages than climbing doms anyway.
Peters, who hasn't been that great this year so far, over Berthet is a bit of a surprise to me, since the later was clearly stronger in both the NC and the Classic Alpes-Maritimes, but whatever.
