What an emotional finale! Kudos to Abrahamsen and also to Schmid for fending off a strong group including Vans. When I thought the chasing group (seemingly much stronger) lost big time today a great attack by Van der Poel happened on the last climb but he couldn't make it to the top2. He missed just by seconds.

We actually had some GC drama today. Visma put pressure on Pogacar (Jorgenson + Vingo) but a few kilometers later a more important thing happened: Pogi crashed at high speed. Credit to his rivals (Visma, Remco, Bora) for waiting for him. Fair play! Pogi joined the reduced peleton but it remains to be seen how it affects him. The timing couldn't have been worse.

If it was Remco:
"Jesus, he looked injured, tomorrow he will lose time and it's because of this crash. If he didn't crash, he would win the Tour de France."
When Evenepoel crashed on his hip in the Vuelta, it was downplayed into oblivion that his crash might have anything to do with his subpar showing the next few days, even though they had to carry him off his bike because he couldn't walk properly.

It's not about circumstance, it's about who he is. Plenty other riders go down, not due to their own fault, and they lose time because nobody waits.

But riders today are more concenred with pleasing the tiktok crowd and pleasing King Joffrey himself than actually racing.

Well yes, of course it's about who he is as well. I think that's quite obvious, no? Why would the peloton wait for a rider that is not involved for the gc?
