It was notorious, Visma tried to annoy him by playing mind games because they know they can't be him on sheer power.
What do you think about their hypocritical behaviour? They complained about the speed on descents (specially that crash who almost ended Vingegaard's career) and then Matteo is riding like crazy on a descent in a prep race (14 months later in the Dauphine).
Are they really worried about safety? I don't think so.

None of it has to be negative. Just an experiment that didn't work, try something different. Standard stuff.. Jorgenson is an excellent racer, huge upside. Doubt in the future that during team meetings when annoying Pogacar strategy resurfaces they will do it again. Visma has stayed on message 100%, put pressure on Pogacar, make every moment hard, make UAE question what we are doing from start to finish. That was \is the strategy. Few problems with it, fundamentally Pogacar has shown zero weakness at any races leading up to TDF, second issue is big data, nothing on paper would have lead Visma to believe that could overpower or outlast UAE, before or after Almeida broke down. I see trying something different.. But for how long.
Visma is obviously a great team, have strength in all aspects, but mismanagement of resources looks like the issue.. Today great example.. Visma has guys with capability to make a difference in front of both groups.. Break and peloton.
