I've always been and will remain a Roglic fan (among other riders I like too). But he might as well give his team and the Tour the finger when he crosses the line today.
He should have abandoned that pointless attack when he saw they were not giving them any gap. Dangling 50 sec infront of the pack for so long was a dumb move.

Easy to say from the couch.
Vingo said the Tour is not over. He clearly was quite good today ( followed Pogs attack) but despite Pogacars leadout for kilometers not a single try by Vingo: if not for GC victory then at least for prestige trying to drop Pog and gain time and some psychological advantage ahead of future encounters .

I almost never criticize his tactics but he chickened out this time.

It blows my mind someone trying to defend Vingegaard here, specially when a guy is leading the GC and won 4 stages and the other has 0 stages and nothing else to conquer in this Tour.
I don't really get this narrative... Vingegaard looked like he was trying to win the stage. He knows he can't drop Pogacar, so attacking low down the climb is a pointless endeavour. I think he made a mistake in the final km and left it too late, but in general the Gerrans approach was the best for the stage win. It's sad, but it's a reflection of the gap between the two riders.

Pogacar: *Drops Vingegaard every climb, especially in the final 200m every climb*

Cycling fans: "Why doesn't Vingegaard work for Pogacar?"

LOL, what?

the guy doesnt have a win all race , this was his last chance and he's still afraid of not losing a few seconds to Pogacar . Attack for the stage win mate, do it for the team , for the fans , for yourself, ffs .
Terrible take, in order to win you must be willing to lose. He was maybe 100m off in his calculations.

The way people on here talk about the cyclists is mental.....they have just ridden one of the hardest Tours ever and such hard stages with multiple climbs....in their place you would all be in the broomwagon keyboard warriers

behave !!!
How dare spectators criticize the tactics and entertainment value of sports entertainment!!!

Vingegaard did leave it too late, rode the first part of the climb to win the stage but timed it badly in the last km. Arensman was too far away for a 250m attack

Oh, it was 250m to go when Vingegaard went? If only there had been graphics providing that info...

If you're a Vingegaard fan, and you are happy after this sh*tshow, then no-one can help you I'm afraid.
This is just like Carapaz not working with Del Toro.

You don't gift *** to your primary opponent. Especially when he never gives you an inch.

Pogacar makes his team work all day. He pulls, he clearly wants to win the stage. Why should Vingegaard help him?

I’m not happy; Vingegaard did the most logical thing for his chances of a stage win today. If you can’t understand that, than no one can help you im afraid.
People are not complaining about him sitting on Pogacar's wheel the whole way, they are complaining about him not trying until it was too late.

It paints him a coward, unfortunately.
