1992 certainly didn't do that! Crazy how Ciapucchi managed to finish 2nd on that route with only 2 proper mountain stages. Why is it ridicolius? A Grand Tour has to crown the best allround cyclist.
The 1994 Tour de France however absolutely did!

Vauquelin seems like a potential podium threat at this point.

You keep saying this but your posts consistently imply TTs are the only skill that should be rewarded in cycling. Why is it ridicolius? A Grand Tour has to crown the best allround cyclist.
Wind stronger than early afternoon, so people go slower on first part, then faster on second part.Terrible pacing or rapidly improving conditions in the finale
If you weren't a Dane, you wouldn't care for Vingegaard, in fact you would most likely detest him.Pogacar being good, or Vingegaard having a bad day?
I might be biased, but I seriously don't get the dislike some people have for Vingegaard.
Because he beat Pogacar twice?
Because he prefers to concentrate on stage races?

I've been locked in a work meeting and missed the stage. WTF happened? Did someone swap and rebrand Pog and Vingo's TT bikes?
Naah, you were right guys.So @Tymek that was really! bad.
He's quite boring and forgettable as a cyclist and off it, although this has improved a little. Jumbo Visma as a whole aren't very likeable which is saying something as the enemy is UAE which are very hard to root for yet have characters who are far more likeable and easy to root for. What makes you so sure of that?
He's not a bad person...
Absolutely but of course someone will bat for their fellow countryman. Same way most British people wouldn't care for Chris Froome if he rode for Kenya. You can do that even if you are a Dane, and you can also love him if you're Portuguese. Love and hate don't always see nationality.

Any reaction from Vingo himself after the stage?
His introverted personality is actually one of the most redeeming things about him. That's your opinion.
Some people actually like the quiet guys.

I find Vingegaard a subtle and complex character, which to me is intriguing and interesting. And I think a lot of the Visma guys are likeable - Campanaerts, Benoot, Jorgenson, Kuss, WvA ... all likeable to me. Not so sure about Visma management, I'll say. He's quite boring and forgettable as a cyclist and off it, although this has improved a little. The best climber won the race. Dislocated his shoulder, had zero team and still won the race. Before his crash, he destroyed Landa on Abetone (an easy climb).the lack of the long ITT is criminal
The reaction to the giro 2015 should not have been to remove very long ITTs because the best climber did not win. The thing to do would have been to tell Aru and Landa to ride their damn TT bike for once
Start putting 2 long ITTs back in the tour

Not the fact that he's a damn good cyclist?
