I do understand what you're saying, even if I'm not sure I fully agree. I got into cycling because of Pogacar - the first stage I ever watched was the Granon stage in 2022. I got used to seeing him as a sort of plucky underdog, which obviously seems laughable after 2024/ 2025. I enjoy watching him race a lot less now, though, because it's hard to enjoy the victories that seem inevitable. By far my favourite races this year have been the ones he didn't win (MSR and Roubaix). However, I do understand why he still wants Tour de France stage wins - as a cyclist they will have a lot of value to him, and I suspect he has his mind on Cav's record too. So I find it hard to criticise him for that, although I now find myself rooting for Vingegaard, which would have seem unthinkable to me after the 2022 Tour.
