Labous also dropped early on Blockhaus in the Giro and then found a decent pace for the rest of the climb, but I expected her to be stronger here. However unlike Muzic, she's not been able to fully focus on this race due to the Olympics.

Vollering is 39 points behind, and Niewiadoma 35, so they can't catch her. And with Pieterse about to miss the main points on Glandon, she has it won.

Pauliena Rooijakkers for many years was the women's péloton's answer to David Moncoutié. She usually only has two positions in the bunch: right at the back or off the front. She would always drop time in splits and things as a result. She only comes into her element on the climbs, her skillset is: she can climb.

Kasia is a great descender, and will need every single second she can get to have a chance even of hanging on to the podium at this rate, Gigante and Muzic seem to be leaving her behind now too.

Edit: Lucinda Brand might be an interesting ally. She's very good technically, and she can probably be a great help to Realini. She's a very underrated climber because, unexpectedly for a crosser, she's not very explosive or punchy at all, but she has done some really good Giro GCs before because when the diesel gets warmed up she can climb among the best, or at least used to be able to before she focused less on the road.

Expected Vollering to take this easily but Niewiadoma also looks worse than the previous years comparatively to the other riders. She was clearly the second strongest last year, doesn't look like it this year.

That’s what they’re saying on Sporza. I only saw her in the Kerbaol stage win getting dropped immediately, but I guess that was more the legs who were gone.
She got a good group now untill the Alpe.

I’ve just never seen woman descent for their life. Imagine Pieterse could get back to the group maybe.

Rooijakkers is a bad descender?

Think Enric Mas more than Ilnur Zakarin, but definitely she needs a wheel to follow and as you can see, Demi's already opening a gap. Cavallar is not an experienced descender either, being new to road cycling, so Demi may well be alone before long. Or she may want to stay with Pauliena to keep some allies.

Kasia is a great descender, but if she wants the likes of Gigante or Realini to help she'll have to ride within herself for it.
