Looked like a bit of a Cav eff up all round to me. Didn't follow Steergermans for some strange reason, then was badly positioned. Chose to follow Sagan and got it wrong again. Just faffed around throughout the final 500. Don't really see how he can blame his team. Perhaps the heat is getting to him?

Absolutely loved seeing Stannard seemingly back on form. Protecting Froome on his own up to the last K. If he can keep that up, then this could be a much needed recovery week for the rest of the Sky team

As others said, while rough it may look like, that contact was normal business in sprints. Certainly Cav is quite dangerous tho...on the other hand I'm always in awe when looking at Sagan: you can throw him bikes, riders, bottles, whatever, he's like a cat, MAD SKILLZ YO.

Yet some posters are trying to make out it is Veelers at fault. At a minimum Cavendish should be relegated. He doesn't show such good sportmanship when things aren't going his way.
