Pinot calls race doctor

The advantage of the escapees is down to 2'25" and Cedric Pineau (FDJ) has just called for the race doctor at the back of the peloton that is strung out in a long line because of the fast pace. It seems Pineau has taken a blow to the head... either that or he's been stung by an insect as the doctor is tending to a wound on his face.

So, can someone clarify that one for me? Which Pin(ot/eau) are we talking about here?

Of course everyone is chasing. They're not going to win in a break against EBH. And even if they beat him Boeckmans is still pretty fast.

shame Moser is not at the tour, he would chase the escape all alone for sagan from this point :), and succeed of course

LL has ordered them to the front to punish them for lack of results during the tour. Since he is their saviour, he get's to do that.

What the **** are Euskaltel still doing there? At the start I could understand it - they hoped to bring the advantage down so one of their riders could bridge up to the breakaway. At this point, it's completely pointless. If the break is caught now it's a sprint. Guaranteed.

have another look at the finish, we won't see a sprint

either a late break or carnage

Edit: or both

They missed the break on a day they needed to be in the break. Punishment = chase.

With a 4 man team it's ridicolous to decide that. Besides, they have a stage win. Pressure is not on them.
