Burgundy blues.
They could easily have spiced this route up a bit, by swinging into the Morvan.
A long way to ride for the inevitable finish.
Columbian foot soldiers again. Cav won't be happy to be losing 2-1 to Italy, with those pesky mountains up next.
Downhill finish. Will it favour outright speed over a bigger frame?

The stage is a toughie, Go Ale Jet! HE will hit the front with 400m to go and put Manx missile back into his place where he belongs.

That'd be crossing the line with his arms aloft, then. :D

suppsedly wiggins spat the dummy yesterday with the media. already feeling the pressure of the highly likely possiblity of failure?

When? Do you just make things up? Wiggins said to the press about cav "you hated him yesterday but love him today" I don't really see that as spitting the dummy out

yesterday he got caught behind 2 decelerating Garmin lead out men, by the time he extricated himself the sprint was away, but to his credit he had a go.I think he will be in the mix today if it is a bunch sprint.

In a world where a helmet falling down the stairs is reported as being thrown, it sounds like that is spitting the dummy ;)

think a frenchman eg. thomas voeckler will go in the breakaway and pull a solo effort to win. the peloton will be having a rest day ahead of the Alps

Only 3? Won't make it then
They might make it anyway. Cervelo won't chase as it's better for Thor Hushovd's green jersey if there won't be a bunch sprint, Saxo Bank probably won't bother chasing as the mountains start tomorrow and I'm not sure if HTC will bother to do the chasing alone.

Aha got it right. I think there needs to be a group of 5 or so join the lead to make it work. 8 minutes so early is good, 15 is unbeatable.

The lead won't go out beyond 9. All depends on the weather. If it's hot, no one will want to chase.

Sorry I'd forgotten how soft he is, winning 60+ races is child's play!

He can have 200 wins but he still is a baby. He has a super team and that is how he gets most of his wins and he has admitted to it.

No one wins sprints the way he does by being a `baby'. There is a considerable amount of intimidation going on the final KMs of these races, with other riders leaning on Cavendish (and vice versa) in order to take him off Renshaw's wheel. All sprinters are hard men and I even include the Australian ones when I say this!

Cav was indeed a baby last year when he had issues with Piet Roijakkers getting tough in the sprint. He acted like a total baby then...and the day after. But your point is taken...sprinters are not really babies...

I'll go with Freire for the win. Ondulating stage, he should be fresher than all of the other big guys.

Can't wait for tomorrow...:p

LOL ACF:
You would think Cadel has never had a whinge, tantrum, sulk in his career. Truth is, he's a past master.
