Ganna yesterday after the stage said that if today feels good he'll try to hang on and test himself but I wonder how much indicative could be since now he's 88 kilos whereas for the Tour he plans to be around 80 (for reference he was 82 at the 2020 Giro and 85 last year even if the difference in his climbing level between 2020 and 2021 should be more related to the track training rather than weight).

After my amazing success with the negative predictions yesterday, I'll make a few more:

Bryan Coquard will not win.
Mathias Norsgaard will not win.
Evalda Siskevicius will not win.

He plans to shed 8 kilos until the Tour??!

I think his base weight is the 82 kilos of the 2020 Giro so once his upper body is back to normal he has to shed only a couple of kilos.

I think you're making it sound a bit more easy than it is.

Eight kilos in two months where he still has to stay strong. For me it sounds like a difficult balance to say the least.

This doesn't need to become a regular thing...

You were the one who got all snarky that I apparently don't make enough predictions! You want me to actually try and predict who might win?
If you insist:

Nairo Quintana could win the stage (and the GC). I'm not saying he will, just that it's a possibility.

I don't think it's easy, I just think that in INEOS they know what they do, if they planned this way I'm certain they know it will work. And probably they have also already taken in account a bit of loss of raw power since he said all the work for the Tour is finalized to climbing, but if between UAE and PN he confirms a margin well over a second per kilometer on everyone else that shouldn't prevent him from winning TTs. Unless they go full Wiggins and improve even the TT level while loosing weight, with them I won't be surprised by anything...

Arkea seem ready to pounce, Quintana won’t have to attack before 3-5 km to go.

Its getting steeper at 4-5km from the finish, I guess that's gonna be Quintana's go time

Contador won this MTF by 58 seconds over #2.

Might be one of his most underrated performances.
