Until the Steppers took over the pursuit looked to me today's stages are about TDF selection.
Congrats to Coquard. Well fought out where he wasn't exactly supposed o excel.

You know it's been a tough day when Ganna finishes third in the sprint.
When the Cofidis rider attacked, that seemed like a good moment for Ganna to go, but when he waited for the sprint it was a bit weird to sit in second wheel (and then having to sit up and lose speed just before he launched his sprint).

Second victory of the season for Coquard!

He has started his season very good for Cofidis. Very important for him and the team, that he wins some races this year.

Never thought Ganna would beat Demare on such a finish but a guy that does 4km in a little more than 4 minutes should be capable of reasonable sprints.

Coquard racking up wins in races like this is exactly what Cofidis hoped for when they signed him. Could be the difference maker in the relegation battle.

I don't think those 14 points from Besseges and todays 20 points are gonna be the difference... Stage wins don't matter to the UCI, also the reason why LTS is in trouble.

Cofidis got him because he's a french rider that gets attention. He's perfect for the sponsors.
They probably hope he can get those wins in some (French) one day races too, that would give them a good amount of points.

Ganna is a slow starter for an IP specialist, he's probably the worst sprinter among them.
