Tour de l'Avenir (2.NCup) 23.08 - 30.08

Ruben Guerreiro is Tiago Machado 2.0.

José Poeira and the portuguese federation got butthurt after he refused to take part in the Selecção Nacional for the Volta (with the reason of not doing such a hard competition before Avenir) and now they cut him from the squad.

I was missing him already on the starting list. That's such a shame. Portugese federation who don't look at the best way to give the guy a platform to WT teams.

Daniel Pierson also not on the start list.

I would have liked to see Van Der Poel in this one, but he's doing some 2.2 race in the Baltic countries. :(

Anyway, Eiking, Herklotz, Haig or a Colombian ftw

The startlist isnt fully correct anyway
GBR just announced their squad; Dan Pearson and Dan McLay are in and Alistair Slater and Alex Peters are out (from w hat the startlist said).

Norway has 3 potential GC winners in Eiking, Lunke and last year's number 5, Svendsen. Bystrøm who recently signed with Katusha is also riding.

GC winners? IF one of them wins, it'll be big surprise in that field . Podium is the realistic goal for them.

Luske ended Valle d'Aosta in 5-th place and become potential GC winner after that? Let them sign pro contracts at first.
I think Latour will end this race in top-3

How about Schachmann? Will he be good?

He can be, he has been a little inconsistent in prologues (although not ridden a lot).

@Greenedge Kozhatayev is pretty allround although he is mainly a climber, but he can also hold his own on the flat and can even do a pretty good sprint. His ITT is not superb but that doesnt really matter in this Tour de Avenir.

I think he will do a little worse then last year though.

Ruben Guerreiro will race Tour de l'Avenir ;)

I hope he rides. How can this kids learn something and gain visibility if they don't ride the big races against the top riders?

Ruben will start tomorrow and he will try to do what the national team wants. He said that the national team and national coach want to win this or try to win so we will see what he can do in this best form or almost his best form.

Miguel Angel Lopez, bar none.

Definitely Lopez, if he's already adapted to Europe and European racing style.

The big difference between guys like Chaves and Quintana, is that these guys rode already a full year in Europe, so they were used to the European racing.

Read somewhere that Lopez has been suffering from a virus already.
