Marc Soler is 1.86 m. Very good climber for that height.

Anders Skaarseth has been riding really well so far. Looks a good talent with 7th in RVV earlier in the year as well. Anyone who can tell something about him?

He's riding his first year at the continental level. Impressed right from the start by going in all kinds of crazy breakaways, and also doing huge amounts of work for Hoelgaard in Bretagne. He's the kind of guy who's able to just keep going for really, really long.

In the nationals he was 5th, behind four guys who are at WT level (EBH, Nordhaug) or who have already signed a contract (Eiking and Laengen).

It's hard to say what kind of rider he is at the moment. He certainly can't sprint or time trial, but he seems good at everything else (mountains, hills, cobbles, crosswinds...).

He's only been cycling seriously for about 2-3 years, so there should be plenty of room for improvement.

I guess he'll get some more chances for himself next year now that most of the Norwegian talents have signed contracts already.

I'm really excited to see what De Plus can do next year with Etixx. He had some decent results in recent history.

It's a very good stage judging from the ticker, race leader Soler was dropped (just before the top of the Croix de Fer) from the favourite group who are chasing Henao. But he has returned now in the descent.
Henao has 1.20 over the small group, will be interesting who will ride in the valley (should be Haig and Soler)

Damn Mühlberger... I don't know exactly what happened to him yesterday, but that was a massive bonking, losing over 10 minutes on a single climb + decent. I think he could have won this...

They had the strongest team maybe, but not the strongest rider, if Henao wanted to win the race he had to do something early on in this stage. This was not a tactical error in my opinion the early attacks came from Martinez, Reyes and Chavez and they were all not going to win the GC. Henao just wasnt good enough which showed yesterday and the day before so he tried to go for the GC today, nothing wrong with that.

Sebastian Henao is no Quintana.

He already lost his chances on the previous stages so he had to tried something from far. Nothing wrong with that.

It was a solid effort by Seba indeed. He wanted to win the GC, and the only way to do so was by attacking early. There was no way he'd take 2'42'' on Soler on one climb. That said, I hope this was the last time WorldTour, or even PCT, were allowed to participate. Even when there isn't a rule change, I hope the NT uses the l'Avenir to give Colombians who don't have a contract in Europe yet a chance to show themselves, like Aldemar and Chavez did this week.

It would also be better for their development to send riders like Aguirre, Florez or Ivan Gomez, instead of Henao and Dani Martinez.
