John Cena... I mean Sepulveda wins. Completely out of nowhere, he was litterally nowhere to be seen until the last k.

He did seem to appear from nowhere, but it was a lot more than a km out. He went past Acevedo just as Acevedo caught Dayer.

True, but that was after the heli stopped showing the riders on the climb. Of course there was reports of him being in front, but he literally wasnt seen in front until the stationary cameras caught him inside the last k or so.

Am I the only one who has never heard anything about sepulva?

Maybe. He's been developing well over the last couple of years. Still only 24 and was 4th in this race last year. Quite a big talent although his most infamous moment so far in his career was being thrown off the Tour for finishing a stage in a team car (I think!).

Edit: Zinoviev beat me to it.

Yeah, didn't finish a stage in the car - it was his first Tour last year and he was so stressed out by the pace and expectations that once he got a puncture in the mountains and his team car wasn't around he panicked and jumped in AG2R's team car, sat in it for a couple of hundred meters before realizing wtf he was doing and got back out. That was enough to get him DQd. I hope he does better this year.

Yep, the cameras seemed allergic to him, which is a bit unfortunate because that was an epic ride from him.

On another note, I've just realised that Fortuneo are the same team as Bretagne - Seche

If I remember well, he was 19th in the standings before the incident.

19th on PSM.
Arrived in the same time as Talansky, Gallopin, Barguil, Frank and Ten Dam on Plateau de Beille.

He put 2 minutes 10 seconds into the favourites group. Jesus. Plus 50 seconds into Acevedo and a minute and a half into Dayer, his two fellow attackers. That's crazy form.

From what I understood he came from behind closed the gap to Dayer Acevedo and then took off. Motoman.
