From Saxon, you can climb the Col du Lein (left hand profile):

The last km and first 200m of the descent are on sterrato. But the descent puts you arriving at around km 16 on that Verbier profile above, meaning straight into it.

Lein is painfully underutilised.

He was pretty good in Romandie, but with no mountains he had no chance to show anything spectacular. But he was top 10 in the ITT, which is very solid for him.

But yeah, he's had a pretty lacklustre season so far so it's not the most logical prediction.

It's Switzerland. They could easily find a route that had plenty more difficult stuff, and make a one week stage race that justified having 60km of time trialling.

Mind you, so could the Dauphiné. They'd just rather provide an ITT and a weeklong training session than a race these days.

The argument that "the riders make the race" has some merit, but not completely. It would be hard for people to make up all of the time lost in the ITT on a route as bad as this year's Dauphiné even without UK Postal grinding everybody into dust. And "the riders make the race" worked wonders for this year's embarrassment of a Giro. Yes, the route was bad, but not as bad as the racing. Since the riders are unwilling to race, we may as well try to force them to by making courses hard enough to create a selection even if they continue to race like cowards.

Doubt Nordhaug. He got ill before Luxembourg and didnt start there and is a bit unknown with his fitness level.

Nordhaug dissapointed me abit today, so do not think he is in quite top shape (neither do i think Kiserlovski is in top shape either) But Kessiakoff looks like he is going strong
