Dunbar is great, he's a real talent.
I think the issue today is that it has been extremely hard, rather than the hills being long (he was dropped on a 1400m climb).Velolover2 said:

Yeah, ok. These stages seems to be the limit for him. He is probably more suited to the flemish bergs than very hilly races.

I think it's a bit premature to talk about limits when a guy is only 21. He has an interesting range of abilities - he's a lightweight climber but he's got a respectable TT. Those of us that have followed him for a while (and been destroyed by him while racing as an A3 when he was a Junior) know that he has a habit of making outrageous long-range solo attacks stick (e.g. 110km out in the Côte de Picardie U23). He's also clearly got some cobbles aptitude demonstrated by his U23 Ronde win last year.
What does he not have? Race sense, descending ability, the skill of being able to sit in the bunch all day using the absolute minimum of energy so he can be fresh in the finale. It's understandable because in his domestic career he had no need to learn these things because he was able to solo away from a bunch with raw power. The good news for him is that these things can be learned.

That was an awesome stage today, and indeed all 4 days were fun. Yorkshire is just made for a one day classic.
