Col de Vence (final 5.8k only - it's beyond me why they put the KOM here, it's not even the highest point)

The uncategorised climbing near the end and the ensuing descent to the finish line are identical to last year's stage, when they came from Col de la Madone.. Here's a profile of the uphill parts:

Current situation - onto the first climb of the day, breakaway with a gap of 2:20 consisting of Van Niekerk, Siskevicius, Guégan, Delacroix.

Interesting that Ewan switched his program from UAE to here. I think he's a Monaco resident so a home race rather than risk the travel/getting stuck in the UAE?

They're approaching the last climb of the day in France. Scary amount of road furniture in these last kms, Askey has crashed but seems fine.

I think it's 3. Wellens, Kron, Vermeersch?

Edit: maybe 4 now.

Yeah i ment with Kron and Wellens alone controlling. But looks like Sweeny came back too so they're fine.

Bouhanni is there so we get a duel.

Ewan is getting some really easy sprints handed to him this year, although tbf he and the team had to put in a fair bit of work in the finale.

Decent training for Sanremo I guess. That last hill was just a little longer than Poggio.

True, still has Tirreno to do some sprinting. And indeed, he seems to be focussing on the climbing aspect right now. I remember he said before this season that he basically never trains sprinting cause it comes naturally.

Bouhanni was incredibly dissapointing there tho.

Good sprinters didn't bother to go to this race, so nothing extraordinary in easy win for Ewan
Normally you'd expect at least one of Bouhanni and Sagan to be somewhat competitive but when one of them is nowhere in the sprint and the other is nowhere in general there's not much you can do.

As I saw it, when Turgis went there wasn't really any space for Bouhanni before it was over.
